This is a case with several victims and predators; however, we will be focusing on the main three ones. The architect of this case is Jeffery Epstein, who after working as a financier, developed an elite social circle and obtained many women, including underage girls. Those women and girls were then sexually abused by Epstein and some of his contacts. Epstein had several legal proceedings, including ten civil cases from the year 2008 to 2019 and four criminal cases from the year 2005 to 2011, including his trafficking charges and investigations in France. To delve deeper into his legal problems, during 2005, police in Palm Beach, Florida, began investigating Epstein after receiving a complaint from a parent that he had sexually abused her 14-year-old daughter. He later pleaded guilty and was convicted in 2008 by a Florida state court of procuring an underage girl for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute. Thirty-six girls had been identified by federal officials whom Epstein had sexually abused, some of them as young as 14 years old. On July 6, 2019, Epstein was put under arrest again on federal charges for the sex trafficking of minors in Florida and New York. During his arrest, he died under mysterious circumstances. Three weeks prior to his death, Epstein was found unconscious in his jail cell with severe injuries to his neck which could have been the result of attempted hanging or strangulation. Epstein claimed that he was attacked by his cellmate, while the correctional staff suspected attempted suicide and placed him on suicide watch. Six days later, Epstein was taken off suicide watch and placed in a special housing unit with another inmate. When Epstein was placed in the special housing unit, the Justice Department were informed of several rules the had to follow: those rules were that he would have a cellmate, and that a guard would look into the cell every 30 minutes. However, under mysterious circumstances these procedures were not followed on the night of his death. The two guards who were assigned to check his jail unit that night fell asleep, neglected checking on him for about three hours and falsified related records. Moreover, two cameras in front of Epstein’s cell malfunctioned that night. Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City on August 10, 2019. The medical examiner ruled the death to be a suicide.
Now you might be wondering what Prince Andrew has to do with all of this. Well, they share one connection that proved to be fatal to the Prince’s reputation and life. That connection is Ghislaine Maxwell, a British socialite and the youngest child of publishing tycoon and fraudster Robert Maxwell. Maxwell was considered Epstein’s associate and has faced allegations of securing and sexually trafficking underage girls for Epstein and others, charges that she forcefully denies. In addition, she was an acquaintance of the Prince and was the one that introduced him to Epstein in 1999 while she was dating the latter. Moreover, she was one of the few people who knew that Jeffery Epstein concealed cameras in numerous places on his properties to allegedly record sexual activity between underage girls and prominent individuals for criminal purposes, such as blackmail.
Lastly, you might be wondering what Prince Andrew’s role is in this crime. We already have the offender, Epstein, and the connection, Maxwell. After Andrew’s and Epstein’s connection was discovered, some allegations against the prince have risen, when a woman named Virginia Roberts Giuffre has claimed that Andrew had sex with her multiple times when she was 17 years old in 2001 and 2002, as arranged for by Epstein. Another woman has also come out and claimed that Andrew groped her breast. The allegations suggest that the prince was aware of the grooming and trafficking of underage girls that was taking place around him and he obviously did nothing to help the victims or to stop it. His response didn’t make him look better in the public eye as he vigorously denied the allegations, claiming to have no recollection of ever meeting Giuffre. Part of Giuffre claims was that she met Andrew in a club in London and that he got very sweaty as they danced. Andrew denied this by claiming that he had a medical condition at the time that caused him to be unable to sweat. Furthermore, he pointed out that during one of the dates on which Giuffre alleged they’d had sex, he took his daughter to Pizza Express to attend a children’s party then he went straight home. To quote from his disastrous BBC interview that put him under fire from the public, he told the BBC’s Emily Maitlis, “Do I regret the fact that [Epstein] has quite obviously conducted himself in a manner unbecoming? Yes. ”To this she responded,“ Unbecoming? He was a sex offender. ”The prince apologized,“ Yeah, I’m sorry, I’m being polite. I mean, in the sense that he was a sex offender. ”He defended himself by claiming that he had only stayed with Epstein in 2010, post Epstein’s conviction of soliciting a minor for prostitution, in order to end their friendship. The prince didn’t say that he regretted his friendship with Epstein overall, noting that Epstein introduced him to interesting people and things.
To end this messed up case on a weird note, Queen Elizabeth doesn’t seem to give any heed to the allegations against her son as she was seen recently with him at church and prior to that, they were seen having lunch. Furthermore, it was said that he was her “rock” during all the Megxit drama.
