Imagine your life without WATER…definitely unbearable, right? Unfortunately, this will be the situation for all Cape Town residents in nearly three months due to the climate change!
According to NASA data, This city accesses its water from six major reservoirs that are now holding only 26% of their whole capacity. Day Zero occurs when the system’s stored water drops to 13.5%. In order to prevent the complete drought of the dams and reservoirs that feed them with water, the South African government announced that the taps will be shut off.
The residents are really worried about the fact of opening their taps and nothing is expected to come out. They will have to queue and full their gallons from public taps, and what is even more devastating is that they have the right to collect and use only 50 liters of water daily. Many experts expect that this will lead to many possible conflicts between people. Trying to resist and avoid day zero, a guideline was published to help the citizens benefit from this amount of water.
This must be considered as an alarm to all the Egyptians and all the people all over the world who consume more than 200 liters of water carelessly.
